So yeah, I'm probably selling the device while it still has some value :'( it just feels pretty wasteful and stupid to have 0,3" of the screen blacked out constantly. If u think it looks bad in pictures, I think it's so much worse in person. And if u happen to stumble upon a 18:9 video, the notch automatically cuts the video.Ĭolorful/light statusbars look exceptionally bad with the notch making a messy looking, huge dual-color bar on top. YouTube looks especially bad with the screen misaligned to left. You'll find apps where the notch cuts into app elements, even in some Google apps, albeit rare.

Maybe I could somehow handle the look of it, but the software implementation is also lacking. It's like having a Post-it note slapped on a TV, you just can't unsee - it's physically impossible. But I just can't help how disruptive it looks. I've seriously tried to get used to the notch. The forehead is obviously bigger, and might trigger some kinda OCD but in a different way. Now the top "bezel" and bottom one aren't symmetrical. U might notice the outline of the notch in some direct lightning, but mostly the "software bezel" effect is very convincing, unlike with some cheap screens The air gap between the actual display and the bezel is very minimal, combined with the low reflectance of the glass, it makes blacks very inky and pitch black, which blends in the notch very nicely.

U get all the same notch bugs as with the notch, it just changes the color, and doesn't help u in case u encounter a buggy appĮvery app and situation works flawlessly like if you're using a non-notch screen. U have a app constantly running in the background with ~50 MB RAM U can try to mitigate that by blacking out the navbar in NN but then it will be always black, even on homescreen Apps that white navbar will have white-on-white buttons.
